I was excited to get a USB memory key with dual USB-A and USB-C ports several months ago. Between Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cloud-connected services, I can't recall the last time I had to plug something into a travel laptop. The 12-inch MacBook didn't physically connect to anything because many modern laptops don't need to physically connect to anything. The company was just a little ahead of the curve about what features were on their way out. It reminds me of when Apple led the way dropping things like Ethernet jacks and optical drives from computers. No USB-A, no HDMI - how could anyone use a laptop like that? Now, many super-premium 13-inch laptops have at best a couple of USB-C ports and little else. I recall people tearing their hair out over the single USB-C port in the first 12-inch MacBook. Higher-res, Retina-style screens as table stakes for premium laptops? Check. Butterfly keyboard on every MacBook? Check (although who knows for how much longer).

I'm not really in a position to buy a new computer (I'm a student), but buying LPX right now during this pandemic would make my life a lot easier with a sound design class I'm taking rn. I know I barely meet the minimum system reqs for LPX and I do have a hard drive, but I'm not sure if I should commit and buy LPX? Especially since my laptop is 5 yrs old and I have no idea when it's gonna die on me :( Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB. I've read up a good amount of similar forum posts on other ppl's older MacBooks handling LPX just fine, but I'm still skeptical about my laptop.
